If you get a chance please try to visit this pleasant town on the shore of Lake Erie. The duchess and I have been shopping for a retirement home for a few months and this ticked a lot of boxes for us. Water looked clean, a little cool, and fairly calm.Liked that there were no 'big box' stores nearby....it was also a bit of a problem because we didn't see a lot of options for groceries. I am told that the drive to Buffalo is so quick and easy that its your best bet. There is a nice little bike path that runs just inland from the beach front homes - looks like a great place to walk the dog or jog.The crowd here seemed a little older - particularly when compared to the kids at Wasaga or Grand Bend.Overall a nice downtown strip with lots of shopping opportunities.

Visited this beach recently while staying at Pleasant Beach Campground, which is literally a 5 minute walk away. There was no vehicle access onto the beach at the time I was there, but it is clean, the water not murky - there was just a little seaweed to deal with, but nothing that was a nusance. It's a fairly small beach, located in the village of Sherkston, Port Colborne ON, and it is adjacent to the bigger, more expensive, very crowded Sherkston Shores. Surrounded by quaint little homes and cottages, there's a little restaurant/patio called 'On the Water' just outside of the beach entrance and it has great food at good prices. Try the Lake Erie Perch dinner! Fantastic! Pleasant Beach Campground down the road also deserves a mention. It's family owned, and is mostly seasonal trailers with an area for daily tenting site rentals. Its a very nice, well maintained campground with large mature trees, washroom/shower facilities, activities for children and ice cream/snack store which also carries ice, pop, etc. Great little place to bring the family or have a quiet weekend get-away.

Great long flat beach to walk on or to drive your cart on. Cars usually park on it as well. Very shallow. Great for kids and dogs.

People drive and park their cars on the beach blocking the view of the water. There are no "resort" services on the beach other than a pop vending machine, a washroom and a food truck. There is nothing to like about this place. Stay away.

sorry, serious disappointment this year - lots of dead fish on shore as well as tons of algae to wade through to even make it into the water.

I been camping here for many years, yes it's a bit on expensive side, but, you DO get what you pay for.... there's always something going on such as games, caraoke, bingo, Live shows such as Viva Las Vegas and more.... so on those raining days that you don't want to go to the beach, there is something else to do, spend time indoors, have fun.Love this place.
