We took the ferry from Tortola to Anegada for a day trip. All places we had called for car rentals were booked, so we took our chances once we got to Anegada. The woman at Anegada Reef Hotel bar told us about S&K rentals, so we walked across the street to take a look. Stefani mentioned scooters to us but we weren't interested (we had too much stuff with us, and it looked like possible rain) so we discussed cars. She and a coworker asked us if a pick-up truck would work -- I imagine, but am not certain, that this was one of the last options they had to offer us. Fine by us, as long as it got us around. The rental process was smooth, there were no hassles about declining insurance, and they advised us if we got stuck in the sand there would be a fee for pulling us out (ie, be careful not to park in soft sand). Duly noted. As for the truck, it got us around the island completely fine, but notably it was missing a passenger door handle (so had to pull the door closed with the window down), and there was something in the steering column which clanged like a cow bell with every sandy rut we hit (and there are a lot), so we named the truck Daisy. Again, all of this was absolutely fine -- we were grateful to get a rental at the last moment and were thrilled that we could explore Anegada. Just don't expect the highest quality cars/trucks, perhaps anywhere on the island.

Shortly after mooring in Anegada, a young lady named Stephanie (a.k.a. Scooter Girl) approached our boat in a dinghy. She told us to come to her if we wanted to rent scooters. She warned us not to stop at the place across the street - but come straight to her location. We were not disappointed. After filling out the necessary paperwork and receiving a brief safety check, we were on our way. She let us take the scooters for the rest of the afternoon - even though we only paid to rent the next day. That afternoon, we road out to the Anegada Beach Resort. The next day, we rode out to Loblolly Beach and spent the day at the beach before returning our scooters. The customer service was phenomenal, the scooters were well maintained, and it was a great experience.Word of warning - much of the road is to Anegada Beach Resort / Cow Wreck is unpaved, packed sand and dirt that frequently has the washboard effect - makes for a very rough ride. The paved roads are not always in the best condition - beware of potholes and rough spots.Another word of warning - they drive on the left side of the road, so it feels very unnatural if you are used to driving on the right side of the road. Good news, there isn't a lot of other traffic on the island - just be careful.
