It's a tunnel, it just lies there and does it's thing. Keep right if walking towards the Carenage and left if walking to town. Inhale the fumes if you've had too much fresh air lately.

We cruised to GrenadaA whole day we stayed here. One cannot deny this place is really gorgeous.Pedestrians and traffic funnelThrough the narrow Sendall tunnel‘Neath the town and fort (both called St. Georges). The alternative route’s a hillWhich is hard for wheelchairs, stillThrough the tunnel, they drive with more care.A sudden tropical rain showerOf unexpected powerSoaked us.In the museum we dried out there.

Great historical tunnel. Great to see the old town walking around the downtown area and through the tunnel to the warf.

You can pass the Sendall Tunnel from Cruise Ship Terminal to the harbour. It is a little dangerous for pedestrians, as you have to walk on the street. A strange feeling, if the cars nearly touch you... It is nice to see one time, but it was even not worth to take a picture. It is noisy and do not expect to breeze fresh air.

Use caution cars pass closely. This tunnel takes you to the Carenage. Pass this way to walk to Grand Anse beach.

We first drove through the tunnel on our way to St. George's. As we explored the city we found ourselves back at the tunnel. It is a marvel that this centuries old structure is so heavily used by both car and pedestrian. People filed neatly down the left side(with vehicle traffic flow to your right) Felt very safe while in the tunnel

Why would one walk through a very narrow tunnel? Well, to get to the other side. This tunnel is very narrow and you will be walking right next to the single line of cars and small trucks that can go through. Everyone does it, so did we. The bay and shops on the other side are interesting.

What can you say, it's a tunnel you can walk though. Watch your back as cars come very close and there can be a lot of people walking.

Ver cool looking. Carved through the mountain from the warfh to downtown.we walked through going in the direction of the warf and were amazed at the cool much needed breeze coming through. Great pics of my friends fanning their pits in the breeze. It is ver narrow and cars are inches from you butbthat is Grenada! Very narrow streets and windy! Amazingly steep if you walk to the Anglican Church downtown...rivals San Francisco!

A real working historical relic that links the Carenage to the market area and is constantly busy, certainly saves a hike over the ridge, one way traffic makes walking along the side safe as long as you take basic care, short enough not to need a light.

My wife and I decided to walk through this tunnel and when we came upon it we both looked at each other and laughed. We had never been through a tunnel, on foot, shared by cars, just inches away from you. I guess for the locals this is just one part of their everyday journey but for us it was a unique experience. The cars tend to drive sensibly through the tunnel and if you walk in a single file then it is relatively safe but it is funny being so close to oncoming traffic! The health and safety brigade would undoubtedly not allow this in England, so give it a go it's not a long tunnel :)

The Sendall Tunnel is located in an area recognised to be replete with national history. This tunnel is critical both to pedestrian and motor traffic.

This tunnel was excavated in order to allow animal transport to travel direct from one side of the hill to the other instead of having to trek to the top and skid down the other side. There must have been finncial reasons as well when this was built before the days of animal rights

There is no way this tunnel would pass any health and safety legislation in this country, as pedestrians skirt cars in this tunnel. Worth a looksee though.

I volunteer in Grenada and 3 days a week I drive through the tunnel and walk back in the afternoon. When I encounter tourists on the streets of St. George's I always encourage them to go through. It is definitely an exercise in trust but the Grenadian drivers are really good and you won't get hit. I wouldn't recommend starting through between 2:30-4:30 when school and many work places get out. You will then be walking two astride with traffic. But mornings and early afternoon the traffic both pedestrian and auto is lighter. Plus it is the fastest and flattest way to the Carenage! Once you have gone through getting back is a lot less scary.
