砂拉越博物馆

这个博物馆详细介绍了沙劳越从古至今的演变，一些以前的物种、植被和房屋被详细重现，让人对沙劳越的历史有了进一步的了解。但美中不足的是这些东西都是复制品。博物馆免费开放的。

虽然不确定所有的动物标本的时间但他们确实诞生在很久以前。这片区域很好,它向人们展示了人类是如何生活的,比文化村要好。再则这个地方是免费的。我们不知道有多少博物馆是免费的。

楼下全塞满了动物,所以我们几乎没法上楼,还好我们上去了,因为关于部落的展示,老照片还有长屋的样本很值得一看。

这个名字误导了大家,因为Sarawak Museum其实是一系列的建筑(那个时代的伟大的建筑物),涵盖了从自然历史时期到伊斯兰博物馆的建筑,伊斯兰博物馆里面的小咖啡馆还提供了很美味的食物。里面还有一个花园和一个装满鱼的水族箱。

这里不要门票,博物馆里面分成几个小博物馆,有很多有意思的东西。这里有关于Sarawak的展览,不过博物馆关门比较早,下午4点就关了。

看了其中三个馆，对沙捞越的历史宗教及民族有了整体了解。虽然当地人总是说没啥历史，但看了之后，还是挺丰富的，包括Niah遗址，包括文莱王国，James Brooks统治，各种通商，各民族对陶器瓷器的使用，等等。动物标本做得一般，但品种还是很多的。另外也验证了我对长屋的印象，和看到的anna rais是不同的。是了解沙捞越的简易入门。

我去的是这座博物馆的老馆区——那里路线很明晰,展览十分有趣(你可以看到从鳄鱼肚子里发现的毛球和假牙哦!)另外,由壳牌赞助的展览也很有意思。不是所有展出都有完整的书面介绍,不过所有的展览效果都很不错。

博物馆新旧部分都很棒。是个很小的博物馆,但很旧,有很多sarawakia人的文化和生态学。不要错过。

博物馆本身很小,但是收藏这一区域的东西很富足。要看看头顶上的头颅骨,因为有的人忽略了。他们用动物来服务,如果你是个自然保护者,你要多交忍耐。

很多人喜欢这里。首先,你要知道大家都在谈论博物馆什么。这个新的博物馆在山上,从老博物馆过一座桥就到了。老博物馆现在叫民族学博物馆(Ethnology Museum),就在几个小博物馆旁边(自然历史博物馆、艺术博物馆等等)。虽然很小,但很漂亮。新的沙捞越博物馆(Sarawak Museum)属于综合性的。不过,展览办得一般,而且保护得也不好,游客很容易拿着东西就走。不过,还是值得来看看。

为了勾起对童年的记忆,上周我女儿学校外出去博物馆的时候我也去了。我喜欢以前学校的感觉,没有高科技没有数字化。在博物馆外面等待他们上巴士的时候,不喜欢如烤炉一般的热浪。

This museum hasn't changed much in the last three decades. But I still enjoy visiting it. Not the most PC with all the taxidermy, but it is genuine and still free!

The Sarawak Museum was built by Charles Brooke, on the encouragement of his friend, the great naturalist Alfred Russell Wallace. Wallace spent many months in Borneo, collecting specimen. One of them was the famous Rajah Brooke butterfly - now the symbol of Sarawak. A giant version is attached to the facade of the building. Too bad so little of the amazing Wallace story - who discovered the theory of evolution independently of Darwin - is brought to life here.The ground floor is reserved for the a collection of stuffed animals in old dioramas. It all feels kinda sad.More fun is the ethnographic collection on the first floor. There are masks, stunning handicraft and you'll even walk into a longhouse.The best part is actually behind the museum: the aquarium, with a decent collection of fish, well maintained and free of charge.

Liked that the displays were bi-lingual with English. Free entry. Nicely laid out, informative. At the time we visited, other parts of the museum were closed fro renovation. Also went to Art Museum which was 4 or 5 art items for sale, a shop & a coffee shop (that was good). Tried to get into the 'stuffed animal' building but that was also closed that week for a curatoring conference.

The Sarawak museum has much to see and learn. Besides the history section , there is also a art gallery and a ceramic gallery. If one has time go for a walk in the museum park. That is one of the best especially if the weather permits.
